Medulloblastoma is a malignant tumor of medulloblasts, immature glial cells, usually localized in the cerebellar vermis, which is located next to the fourth ventricle of the brain. Symptoms of cancer intoxication, increasing intracranial hypertension and cerebellar ataxia are characteristic. The diagnosis is made on the basis of the clinical picture, the results of the analysis of cerebrospinal fluid, PET, CT or MRI, biopsy. Treatment includes surgical removal of the tumor, restoration of normal cerebrospinal fluid circulation, radiation and chemotherapy.
