Nucleoplasty in Russia
Nucleoplasty is a puncture surgery aimed at removing (vaporizing) a fragment of the nucleus pulposus of the intervertebral disc. The technique is effective for small (up to 6 mm) herniated discs, uncomplicated by stenosis of the spinal canal. Depending on the method of influence on the nucleus pulposus of the disc, cold plasma, laser, radiofrequency nucleoplasty, hydronucleoplasty and interventional discotomy (mechanical destruction) are distinguished. Physical impact leads to partial destruction of the nucleus tissue, a decrease in hernial protrusion, elimination of compression of the spinal roots and the disappearance of pain.
