Novokuznetsk is the largest city in the Kemerovo region. It is called the southern capital of Kuzbass. Half a million Novokuznechansk residents were able to make their small homeland not only the largest industrial city in Siberia, but also an attractive settlement for tourists. Over its four hundred year history, Novokuznetsk has come a long way from a small fortress on the outskirts of the state to an important coal mining and metallurgical center of its region and the entire Russian Federation. The industrial city is located on the right and left banks of the Siberian river Tom.
