Longitudinal pancreatojejunostomy (Pewstau operation) is an intervention during which an anastomosis is formed between the jejunum and the main pancreatic duct. It can be carried out independently in chronic pancreatitis, accompanied by a violation of the patency of the duct, or it can be a stage of resection of the pancreas. The main pancreatic duct and gland parenchyma are dissected along the narrowed area. The jejunal loop is disconnected from the food passage using the Roux method and connected to the dissected walls of the GLP. The method allows to ensure the outflow of pancreatic secretions and eliminate ductal hypertension in the most gentle way.
