Reiter's syndrome (disease) is a rheumatic disease characterized by a combined lesion of the urogenital tract (urethritis and prostatitis), joints (mono- or polyarthritis) and the mucous membrane of the eyes (conjunctivitis), developing sequentially or simultaneously. At the heart of Reiter's syndrome is an autoimmune process caused by an intestinal or genitourinary infection.
