Atheroma treatment in Russia
Atheroma is a sebaceous gland cyst, which is a cavity filled with a mushy secretion. It looks like a subcutaneous, rounded, elevating formation of a soft-elastic consistency. Atheroma easily displaces relative to the underlying tissues and slowly increases in volume, sometimes reaching 7-10 cm in diameter. The diagnosis is based on data from a general examination, ultrasound, histological examination. Surgical treatment involves the removal of the formation together with the capsule that forms it, which excludes the likelihood of relapse. Removal of cysts on the face by cystotomy is allowed to reduce the severity of postoperative scars.
