The V.A.Almazov National Medical Research Center is one of the leading medical institutions in the country providing specialized and high-tech medical care to the population.

The clinic has spacious three-, two- and one-bed wards that correspond to the level of the world's leading clinics. They are equipped with direct oxygen supply, the latest resuscitation devices, comfortable functional beds, and individual lighting devices.

Multi-slice computed tomography

The Center has six modern multislice computed tomographs:

  • Russia's first new expert-class computer tomograph Somatom Force (2 x 192 slices, Siemens), Somatom Definition (128 slices, Siemens), Somatom, Definition AS (128 slices, Siemens).
  • Two Ingenuity Elite tomographs (128 slices, Philips).
  • Ingenuity Elite (128 slices, Philips).

Digital mammography

The Almazov Center has installed a modern digital mammography system of an expert class - Senographe Pristina (General Electric) - a high-tech mammography of the latest generation, providing maximum diagnostic accuracy, which is actively used in leading European clinics.

The Center has two magnetic resonance imaging machines:

Positron emission tomography (PET/CT) and radioisotope diagnostics

Radioisotope diagnostics is a modern method of radiation imaging based on the use of chemical compounds labeled with radionuclides, which has found application in almost all areas of medicine. From anatomical and topographic methods of radiation diagnostics (ultrasound, X-ray computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging), the method of isotope diagnostics differs in the ability to assess the functional state of human organs and tissues, cell metabolism and receptor status.

Consultative and diagnostic center

Thanks to the highly qualified personnel of the Consultative and Diagnostic Center and the unique modern equipment, it is possible to quickly and accurately diagnose various diseases on an outpatient basis.

The Consultative and Diagnostic Center (CDC) has everything necessary for diagnostics and highly qualified treatment, there is a department for day care of patients (day hospital).

The CDC is designed for 360 visits in 2 shifts and operates on Saturdays.

In 2013, the Outpatient Surgery Center was opened. It carries out consultative reception of cardiologists and doctors of other specialties, diagnostic units work: the department of functional diagnostics, the endoscopic department, the department of radioisotope diagnostics, the X-ray room and others. The concentration and wide range of diagnostic equipment allows for an integrated approach to diagnostics.

The Perinatal Center has a consultative and diagnostic department for women, an endocrinological gynecology center, and a department of assisted reproductive technologies (ART, IVF).

Main directions of activity

  • Provision of highly qualified cardiological advice to all patients who apply to the CDC in the direction of medical and prophylactic institutions;
  • Diagnostic examination of patients with ischemic heart disease, heart defects, cardiac arrhythmias to determine further treatment tactics. X-ray endovascular diagnostics, surgical treatment, implantation of PEX, for operations or therapeutic endovascular procedures on peripheral arteries, veins, abdominal aorta and its branches, renal arteries in renovascular hypertension;
  • Examination and treatment of patients with congenital and acquired heart defects;
  • Examination with pacemakers implanted at the Center;
  • Clarification of the diagnosis in patients with unclear and complex diseases of the cardiovascular system and the decision of the question of further treatment tactics;
  • Postoperative rehabilitation of patients operated on at the Center;
  • Dynamic observation and consultation of patients who underwent surgical treatment with a complicated course of the postoperative period (relapses of angina pectoris, dysfunction of prostheses, heart valves, etc.).

Perinatal center

On November 1, 2010, the perinatal center began its work. The Perinatal Center of the V.A.Almazov National Medical Research Center is equipped with the most modern equipment. All types of high-tech medical care are provided to citizens of the Russian Federation free of charge at the expense of
federal budget.

The perinatal center of the Almazov Center operates in accordance with the principles of the World Health Organization's program "The hospital smiles at the child."

The main focus of the perinatal center is the provision of specialized obstetric-gynecological and neonatological care using modern medical technologies.

  • Improvement of the reproductive health of women with a burdened obstetric and gynecological history, extragenital pathology.

The laboratory has modern equipment from leading world manufacturers. Equipping with automatic analyzers from ABBOTT, Roche, Beckman Coulter, Radiometer, Becton Dickinson and using only manufacturer's reagents allows laboratory diagnostics to be carried out at the highest level.

The entire fleet of automatic and semi-automatic analyzers is combined into a single computer information system (LabTrak), which allows you to control the entire process of test execution at any stage. A bi-directional data exchange between medical and laboratory information systems has been configured, which allows the doctor to receive research data in the shortest possible time. Due to the multilevel quality control of studies, the possibility of errors in the results is completely excluded.

Regional Vascular Center

The Regional Vascular Center is a functional association of several departments and services designed to provide emergency care to patients with acute coronary syndrome (myocardial infarction and unstable angina pectoris) and stroke (hemorrhagic and ischemic).

Only in 2019 at the Regional Vascular Center of the N.N. VA Almazov, specialized and high-tech medical care was provided to 457 patients with a diagnosis of acute cerebrovascular accident (ACVI).

The structure of clinical forms of ACVA in 2019:

  • transient ischemic attacks - 14;
  • hemorrhagic strokes - 49;
  • ischemic strokes - 391.

When providing emergency care to patients with stroke, high-tech methods of treatment are used (thrombolysis, thromboextraction, combined reperfusion, surgical neurosurgical interventions).

The Almazov Center provides specialized, including high-tech, medical care to patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) around the clock, 7 days a week. Hospitalization of patients with ACS is carried out by ambulance and emergency teams.

The vast majority of patients with ACS are provided with high-tech medical care in the scope of coronary angiography, percutaneous coronary angioplasty with stenting, and emergency coronary artery bypass grafting. In 2019, the clinic treated 1,326 patients with ACS.
