Institute of Clinical Rehabilitation

About hospital

Our clinic has been specializing in the elimination of muscle contractures for more than 30 years. During this time, more than 60,000 patients have been operated on around the world, including those coming to Tula from other countries.

Our specialists are at the origins of modern minimally invasive contracture surgery.

The modern building, equipped with the latest technology, provides patients and their attendants with everything they need for maximum comfort of stay. We work in a one-day hospital format, which, in our opinion, provides the best conditions for recovery after operations on the day of their implementation and subsequent days.

History

More than two decades ago, V.B. Ulzibat founded the Institute of Clinical Rehabilitation. Since then, all the basic principles of operations performed at the clinic have remained unchanged.

The Institute of Clinical Rehabilitation is based on a set of patented inventions of its founder, Honored Inventor of the Russian Federation, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor V. B. Ulzibat, providing effective, affordable and safe surgical care in outpatient settings.

For more than 20 years, employees of the Institute of Clinical Rehabilitation JSC have been providing specialized orthopedic care on an outpatient basis to patients with congenital and acquired pathology of the musculoskeletal system, including cerebral palsy (cerebral palsy).

Who are our patients

Among the patients of the Institute are citizens of Russia, all republics of the former USSR, we have many patients from foreign countries: Spain, Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovakia, Mexico, Argentina, Australia, Great Britain, Czech Republic, Germany, USA, Canada, Italy, Greece, Sweden, India, Poland, Egypt, Israel, Lebanon and many others.

The most numerous is the group of patients who were diagnosed with cerebral palsy (cerebral palsy). We treat patients with various forms of cerebral palsy, such as double hemiplegia, spastic diplegia, hemiparetic, hyperkinetic, atonic-astatic forms. Treatment is most effective at an early age, but when treating patients over the age of 18, as a rule, there is a significant effect of treatment.

The Ulzibat method

The Institute of Clinical Rehabilitation uses an unparalleled surgical technique - phased fibrotomy (PFT), developed and put into practice by Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor V.B. Ulzibat, as the main method of treating patients with musculoskeletal pathology.

The essence of phased fibrotomy is a special technique for dissecting pathologically altered muscle areas (scars) with a specially designed scalpel, which allows not to make an incision of the skin and healthy muscles, aimed at eliminating local muscle contractures and pain syndrome with minimal possible discomfort for the patient. There is no surgical suture - after surgery, only punctures from the introduction of a scalpel remain on the patient's body. The operation is performed as quickly and safely as possible for the patient, thereby minimizing the time spent under anesthesia and stress, which is especially important for children.

Advantages of phased fibrotomy

LOW INJURY RATE

unlike classical surgical techniques (subcutaneous myotomy, tenomyotomy) and their variations, step-by-step fibrotomies are performed without incision of the skin in a gentle way only in the scar area, while maintaining healthy muscles; no complete muscle intersection is performed, no work on tendons, bones; after surgery, no plaster is required; postoperative wound care is simple and accessible to each patient;

THE UNIVERSALITY OF THE METHOD

our method allows performing operations on all superficially located muscles; the technique is used for various diseases of the musculoskeletal system due to the development of similar changes in muscle tissue when exposed to various causal factors (injury, infection, allergens, toxins, etc.);

SHORT OPERATION TIME

there is no need to use complex additional equipment and use additional manipulations during the operation, which require a significant increase in the time of the operation and the duration of the patient's stay under anesthesia, which facilitates the post-acute condition of the patient and significantly reduces the likelihood of postoperative complications;

WITHOUT HOSPITALIZATION

The operations are performed in a "one-day hospital", which contributes to a faster recovery in the usual home conditions for the patient;

NO CONTRAINDICATIONS

There are no contraindications associated with the early age of patients, the presence of concomitant hyperkinetic, convulsive, hydrocephalic, asthenic syndromes, delayed speech and physical development, compensated chronic diseases and congenital malformations (hydrocephalus, heart disease, stridor, etc.).

All of these advantages are relevant compared to other operations on skeletal muscles.

Treatment of cerebral palsy is carried out in several stages, at each stage the necessary number of muscle and fascial contractures is eliminated simultaneously - under general anesthesia; under local anesthesia - the number of PFTS - up to 4-6 in one stage. The plan of operations at each stage is coordinated with the patient himself or his representative (parents) with the preparation of appropriate documentation.

The timing of the next stage of operations depends on the severity of motor disorders, the presence of concomitant diseases, and the intensity of growth (for children).

Due to the low injury rate, the duration of postoperative recovery of motor functions is significantly reduced - from 5-7 days to 3-4 weeks (depending on the volume of surgery).

The elimination of muscle contractures and pain syndrome makes it possible to achieve a significant increase in the volume of movements, contributes to the acquisition of new and improvement of previously existing motor skills. An increase in general motor activity stimulates mental development, expands the range of interests, and increases the level of self-service. In severe cases, patient care is greatly facilitated.

The high efficiency of surgical treatment and the uniqueness of the methods used attract patients from various cities of the Russian Federation, as well as from countries near and far abroad (Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Spain, Greece, Serbia, Montenegro, Croatia Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovakia, Egypt, Finland, Italy, Poland, Germany, Sweden, USA, Israel, India, Argentina, Australia, Peru, Venezuela, Mexico, Great Britain, USA, Canada, etc.)
