Federal State Budgetary Institution "Federal Scientific and Clinical Center for Medical Rehabilitation and Balneology of the Federal Medical and Biological Agency" (formerly FGBUZ TsKBVL FMBA of Russia) is a multidisciplinary center for medical and sports rehabilitation, equipped with unique equipment, where more than 9 thousand patients receive inpatient medical care annually, consultative and diagnostic assistance — more than 5 thousand patients. diversified pedagogical and scientific work is carried out, new medical technologies with a high level of evidence-based effectiveness are constantly being introduced.
Here, patients receive high-tech rehabilitation treatment for lesions of the brain and spinal cord, orthopedic and traumatological pathology, and cardiovascular diseases.
For 50 years, rich experience has been accumulated, rehabilitation programs have been worked out, the clinic is equipped with modern medical and diagnostic equipment. The hospital employs experienced highly qualified specialists, doctors and candidates of medical sciences. Most doctors and nurses have the highest and first qualification categories, additional training in restorative medicine. FSCC MRiK is widely known, deserved authority and recognition.
The Scientific and Clinical Center has a fund of almost 500 beds and includes: 11 clinical departments, including an intensive care unit, 3 rehabilitation departments, 3 diagnostic departments, a day hospital and a personalized medicine department.
The FSCC MRiK presents a full range of functional and laboratory studies. Since 2015, highly qualified consultative and diagnostic assistance has been provided via teleconsultations in almost all clinical areas.
Since 2006, FSCC MRiK has been providing medical care to neurological patients with severe movement disorders using robotic simulators and space medicine technologies.
Since 2009, the FSCC MRiK has been providing medical and biological support to athletes of the Olympic and Paralympic national teams of Russia and their immediate reserve.
Diagnostic Service
The diagnostic service at the FSCC MRiK is represented by departments of radiation, functional diagnostics and a clinical diagnostic laboratory.
The Department of Functional Diagnostics has great potential in the field of studying the cardiovascular system, diseases of the pulmonary, nervous, and locomotor systems. The most modern equipment allows to evaluate functional reserves and control the effectiveness of rehabilitation treatment using research methods from standard to high-tech: ECG, ECG Holter monitoring, daily blood pressure monitoring, spirography with pharmacological tests, as well as neurophysiological studies: electromyography, EEG, transcranial magnetic stimulation.
The Department of Radiation Diagnostics is represented by three areas of imaging with the possibility of conducting diagnostic studies on all organs and systems: X-ray studies, including densitometry, MRI studies, ultrasound studies. Diagnostic rooms are equipped with modern diagnostic equipment of high and expert class made in the USA, Germany, Japan, Canada, Russia.
The Department of Clinical Laboratory Diagnostics conducts almost all types of research, all biological media, for more than 15 years it has been a member of the Federal System for External Assessment of Research Quality.
Modern methods of neurorehabilitation
FSCC MRiK provides high-tech medical care to patients with vascular diseases of the brain and spinal cord; with the consequences of cerebrovascular accidents; with diseases and consequences of injuries of the peripheral nervous system; after surgical interventions on the spine, brain and spinal cord; with severe motor and cognitive disorders.
The hospital is equipped with the necessary high-tech medical equipment and devices for the rehabilitation treatment of patients with severe motor disorders: a multifunctional swimming pool complex, where classes are held according to group and individual programs, including special installations for underwater vertical traction of the spine and hip joints; specialized halls with passive-active rehabilitation simulators "THERAVITAL" and "MOTOMED"; robotic systems with enhanced feedback - "LOKOMAT" of the latest generation with the FreeD module and "ARMEO-Power", which have a wide range of training simulation capabilities: from completely passive to varying degrees of activity, with continuous computer analysis and monitoring of the patient's motor participation; platforms for biofeedback stabilization training; a full range of equipment for early verticalization and sequential learning to walk with severe lesions of the brain and spinal cord. The suspension system of neuromuscular retraining "Exarta" is actively used. The developments of domestic aerospace medicine have been successfully installed in the programs for the restoration of motor skills. Individually selected rehabilitation programs include: multichannel functional programmable electrical stimulation, high-pulse magnetic stimulation of the neuromuscular apparatus in combination with rehabilitation simulators, intraosseous blockades, administration of drugs based on botulinum toxin. Cardiorehabilitation
In the rehabilitation of patients with coronary heart disease, with hypertension, who have had acute myocardial infarction, prosthetic heart valves, individual selection of the intensity of physical activity on ERGOLINE cardio simulators is widely used. Intensively used are innovative methods of enhanced external counterpulsation, a non-drug method of treating patients with diseases of ischemic origin, and sessions of myocardial shock wave therapy in the post-ischemic period, which can significantly reduce the drug load, delay or avoid surgical treatment. In the complex treatment of patients with a cardiovascular profile (stroke, arterial hypertension, diabetes mellitus), hyperbaric oxygen therapy, ozone therapy and other modern methods are also effectively used.
Department of Traumatology and Orthopedics with neurosurgical beds
At present, the FSCC MRiK is a modern center for examination, minimally invasive surgical and conservative treatment, and comprehensive rehabilitation of athletes with injuries and diseases of the locomotor system. So, in the traumatology and orthopedic departmentFSCC MRiK has developed comprehensive rehabilitation programs after injuries and orthopedic operations, incl. total arthroplasty of large joints (hip, knee, shoulder) with the inclusion of methods of extracorporeal shock wave therapy, interstitial autoplasma infusions. New surgical technologies are also widely represented - minimally invasive osteosynthesis for fractures of tubular bones, ununited fractures and false joints; arthroscopic interventions on the knee joints. An important place is occupied by various options for minimally invasive interventions on the hand and foot. A significant advantage of surgery in the conditions of the Federal Research and Clinical Center of the MRiK is the possibility of fast track rehabilitation from the first day after the operation.
Since 2017, the branch of neurosurgery has been opened on the basis of the department .
Therapeutic department
The main directions of the therapeutic department are rational respiratory rehabilitation of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases and bronchial asthma; treatment of patients with diseases of the gastrointestinal tract; endocrinological patients; recovery after surgical interventions.
The basis of medical rehabilitation of all categories of patients is the methods of classical and innovative kinesitherapy, which is rationally combined with the methods of apparatus physiotherapy, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, hydro-, balneo-, heat- and pelotherapy, modern pharmacotherapy and traditional methods of treatment in individually selected comprehensive programs conducted by highly qualified specialists . Every year the programs are improved with the introduction of new technologies.
Department of exercise therapy and social and labor rehabilitation
The area of professional interests of the department of kinesitherapy is the individual selection of programs for motor rehabilitation and hardware kinesitherapy in patients with motor and coordinating disorders due to lesions of the Central and peripheral nervous system, with vertebrogenic pain syndromes. The structure of the department includes: a pool complex, cabinets for hardware, hydro- and manual massage, manual therapy; Hall of active and cyclic simulators "Compass"; Halls with the use of special simulators and mechanotherapy on the most modern equipment with biofeedback elements. Today, the complex of 4 Lokomat robots is the most powerful in the country.
Physiotherapy Department
In complex rehabilitation programs, all classical methods of apparatus physiotherapy are used. We have rooms for ozocerite and mud therapy, a bathroom, a shower gallery, dry-air carbon dioxide baths, and a halochamber. The department provides: magnetotherapy, electrical stimulation, laser therapy, various types of electrotherapy, as well as phototherapy. For 45 years, the FSCC MRiK has been developing and applying various types of apparatus physiotherapy.
Personalized Medicine
In 2016, a department of personalized medicine with a medical genetic cabinet was opened . Consulting is carried out on congenital and hereditary pathology, multifactorial diseases. Molecular studies and pharmacogenetic testing are carried out to evaluate the individual response to treatment.
Department of Restorative Medicine
Since 2001, the main priority of the work of the Department of Restorative Medicine of the Institute for Advanced Studies of the Federal Medical and Biological Agency of Russia, headed by Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Andrei Vasilievich Kochetkov, has been the scientific and methodological development and clinical testing of new, mainly high-tech methods of rehabilitation.
Departmental and international seminars, symposiums, as well as additional professional training programs for doctors and nurses were regularly held. Since 2017, Doctors' Advanced Training Programs have been approved in the system of continuing medical education, which can be conducted remotely, in HD format, directly from the clinic.
Since 2017, a course of rehabilitation and sports medicine has been opened on the basis of the IPK FMBA of Russia.
The FSCC MRIK preserves and creatively develops the traditions of the agency, accumulating clinical experience, improving diagnostic and treatment and rehabilitation methodological approaches, creating and optimizing programs primarily for motor recovery, improving the qualifications of specialists and acquiring the necessary equipment.
